Wouldn't worry about it's condition.  Over the years a lot of us have been in that situation.  Then when you get there you see cars that are worse than yours.
One year mine blew up on the way there.

my TC has been far from perfect. i think when it was frshly painted in 2005 it looked good.
its not about what condition its in as long as ou working on it.
there have been cars in all different states of JackStand. here you can talk about what you going to do and see what other have also done to get there

I will be staying at the Sleep Inn, only a few miles from the fairgrounds. I forget what the rate was, but I think it was around $120 a night, but I get a decent discount with my Choice Privileges membership. For me its a 950 mile one way ride to Carlisle, and I want to stay close to the fairgrounds and not drive much while I am there.

The farther from the fairgrounds you stay, the cheaper the motels are.

As noted above, no one cares if your TC is show quality or a work in progress. It is as much about the people and just hanging out and talking as it is the cars.

Anyone who would bring a grill of any size would need to be local, and AFAIK, not many TCs local to Carlisle. It has been a few years, but Dan used to bring a decent sized grill and cook, but gave that up due to the hassle of bringing the grill in is truck and also bringing his TC.

I thought I recall someone saying you can rent a grill from the fairgrounds people. does anyone know if that's true? if so, we could all pitch in a few $$$.

I have never been but intend to go this year and have a couple questions.

Do you have to register (and pay) to park in the fairgrounds or is it just show up and park?
Do all Fords of the same models (such as our T-birds) park in the same area?

Thanks,
Pat

if you want your car to be on the show field, then yes, you have to pay. you can either pay ahead of time or the day of the event. you usually get a discount if you buy a ticket before a certain date: https://store.carlisleevents.com/SearchR...asp?Cat=24

our tbirds park in the same area on the show field, yes.

Jeff K, I heard back from Carlisle Events regarding the grill...here's their exact reply:

Quote:Hi Andrew, we do not rent grills unfortunately however High Peak Rentals of Carlisle does.
