CARLISLE 2017 HOTEL ROOMS

Every year we attempt to find a motel in the Carlisle Pennsylvania area which will reserve NATO a block of rooms for those attending the All Ford Nationals. For many years we stayed at the Days Inn South in Carlisle but in 2015 they were taken over by new management so we moved our reservations to the Baymont Inn in Mechanicsburg for 2016. In 2016 the Baymont was taken over by the LaQuinta chain. The LaQuinta was contacted this year about reserving a block of rooms for us and they were glad to do that but not at the rate we had for 2016 at the Baymont. An extensive search was started to find a motel that was close to the Carlisle Fairgrounds and was fairly cheap and had nice rooms. A majority of the motels that fit our criteria were contacted to find out if they were willing to reserve a block of rooms. To find a motel chain that is not already booked in Carlisle for that weekend is almost impossible. Because of that fact we concentrated on motels that were close to the Fairgrounds but not necessarily in Carlisle. We got a few replies back from national chains but not as many as we would have liked. Just for kicks we contacted the Days Inn South in Carlisle. They were very glad to grant our request and quoted us a price that was the second cheapest quote that we had gotten but because they were in Carlisle the difference in price was actually cheaper than anybody else. Therefore, NATO Central will be returning to the Days Inn South in Carlisle for the 2017 All Ford Nationals will be on June 2-4, 2017.
We were able to reserve a block of 10 rooms for NATO and the block of rooms is already in their computer and they are taking reservations. All you have to do is call the Days Inn at 1-717-258-4147 and tell them you want to reserve a room(s) in the NATO block of rooms. You need to tell them your arrival date and departure date and give them any other information they need in order to reserve you a room. They will tell you what type of rooms are available. Be sure to get a confirmation number and if you find out you can't attend you have to cancel 72 hours before your arrival date or they will bill you for a one night stay (common procedure). These rooms are reserved until May 1, 2017 and then all unreserved rooms will be released. The price per room per night is $151.51 and that includes taxes. Many hotels will advertise a price but that price doesn't include taxes. Well, that's about it. I'm going to post this notice on the NATO Facebook page also.
