when I try to start my TC I get nothing. Like, zero noise or anything, and the battery is brand new (there was no battery in it when I bought it), so I know that's not the problem. What could be causing this?

Well that's the problem, when I bought the car everything worked, the mechanic got the car started, not by turning they key, but the engine was good and the headlights and taillights worked, but now when I turn the key I'm getting nothing, no lights or anything. The strange thing is I can't remember how the mechanic started the car, I wasn't paying much attention at the time. So when the engine was running I got lights and everything, now I get nothing.

Do you have an auto or 5-speed? If auto, make sure the brake is depressed. If 5-speed, make sure the clutch pedal is in.

I used to be normal...then I got a Turbo Coupe.

If you have no power whatsoever (i.e. the headlights should come on independent of the ignition switch, the dome light should light with the door open, etc.), then either the battery is completely dead, it's hooked up backwards, or one of the battery cables (or both) is disconnected or broken.

If the battery is brand new, did it come with acid in it or did it have a dry charge? If it is a dry charge battery and there is no electrolyte (acid) in it, it is and will remain electrically "dead" until it is filled. Trace the ground cable out and make sure the other end of it is securely connected. Just look for the obvious.
