hey guys, fixed the car, it was the FPR..and now it runs better than it ever has!! i did want to ask, what does advanced timing do for you? how much of a diff. does it make when running your ETs? thanks for any help.

85 Turbocoupe. 5-speed.
Mods- single 2.5 inch exaust with highflow cat and Apex bullit muffler, Saab 9000 front mount IC,Centerforce II clutch kit, Gillis BV set at 19psi,K&N on VAM, Hurst shorthrow shifter.
BEST ET-(1/8)-9.7 @71.9 mph

A little advance help low end response. Too much kills low end driveability and mileage and can lead to detonation. Try about 12* and then work your way up in 1 degree increments.
14* is probably about max for best overall operation. It is not going to cut 1/2 second off your et. This assumes you are using premium fuel

well i had the timing set at 17 before things started going wrong with the car, and i know my gas mileage sucked, but now i have the timing set at the stock 10 BTDC and the car seems to run just as good, if not better, i think i am just going to leave it alone! if i leave the setting at 10 and run about 15-18 psi of boost, is it going to detonate really bad still? i know a while back when i was running 15 psi and 17* timing, it would detonate pretty easily. let me now what you think.
