car missing?timing off

i just got my 88 turbocupe running after 5 long years (restoration).anywho I dont have a timing light so im sure the timings off Ive tried to set it by ear which I think is impossible.anyway my car has a slight miss at idle.Would the timing be causing this?thanks, and everybodys been a huge help!

Timing could make a difference. What is new and what might be old, ignition and fuel wise?

motorcraft plugs, brand new wires motercraft also,cap and rotor is a cheapie though.fuel filter is new along with bbk billet FPR,msd coil, walbro 190,TFI is not new.The car has been sitting for 5 years nd I havent even drove it yet runs great though.Also the car will sometimes idle up around 2000 rpms and then drop back down to about 1000rpms.I replaced IAC motor and TPS.They are not new though,they came off my old motor.thanks again!

I recommend getting the timing correct first then see what you got. Pulling the codes an dchecking fuel pressure also, if not already done.
