Car bogs randomly - vacuum or fuel pump problem?

I just thought I fixed the problem, my PCV hose fell off again (the vacume hose right behind the alternator....PCV right?)

So i pushed it back in, the car ran great for a couple miles until i boosted it in first gear and shifted hard into 2nd.....then the bogging came back, so i thought the PCV fell off again but it didn't

I just did new spark plugs, new wires, and I checked my fuel filter today and all are good (fuel filter is 6 months old and i can blow air through it)

Currently with the PCV in, the car bogged raondomly in first gear (which is wierd because when the PCV is off, it boggs in 2/3 gear between 2000-3000rpm

i dont know how to run codes with the car on, will that tell me anything ? currenly no codes come up if i do the car-off test.

to do the fuel diagnostics pete d sent me, i need some kind of fuel sensor thing (that apparently plugs into the same place the code reader does)

where do i get one of those?

i might have narrowed it down to a vacume leak (damn i need some guages)

the car bogged/jumped a little bit in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear when i just took it for a test run, then the car ran fine for another mile or two. does the computer compensate for vacume loss?

my idle rpms when i hit a stop light, were at 1400 then after 20 seconds it went back down to 1000 as it should....i'm thinking i can drive back to chico (from sacramento) tonight without any problems.....because if it is my fuel pump, wouldn't my car just not work?

Does the bogging only happen during boost? If it does, then I would look for a loose connection of the rubber hoses around the intercooler, or maybe a slit in one of the hoses, or maybe the vam to turbo hose is collapsing on you. Or maybe Pete is on the right track and your fuel pump is dying, happens all the time.

I just drove 90 miles from Sacramento to Chico, would a dying fuel pump do that?

I suspect either something clogging the fuel line/pump or a small vacume leak because it does it randomly sometimes, and sometimes my car runs fine

and it does it during regular driving (i would know precisely if it was the intercooler hose, its happened before)

put a hose clamp around the bottom hose for the PCV, then go from there

yea PCV has been in the whole time since i initially found that to be the problem.....i suspect a smaller scale vacume leak

tomorrow im gonna take off the pcv hose and inspect it, and check that one vacume line by the turbo (into the turbo?)....vam i think?

Be sure to look for dry rotted vacuum hoses around the turbo and BCS. These are really close to a heat source and deteriorate over time.
