Hi! new member here. I have already a mustang 2.3 turbo and i finally found a turbocoupe last year!

The trouble is that at 195 f the ect dont want to go under 0.9 volts. At 200 f and the heater shut down, the best i can have is 0.85 volts. I tried two ect and the results are the same. I put another in the heater hose from the thermostat and still do the same, so the intake coolant passage may not be clogged.

What can i do ?

Welcome to the board.

Are you having a running problem? Like rough running after a cold start? I also don't understand " At 200 f and the heater shut down". Please explain

Thank you Pete

I only want to improve my mpg, which is low. For the second part, i have tried to tell that even in a situation of overheating, the voltage is not even near the value it should be. Sorry, its hard for me to write in english.

Is VREF very close to 5.0 V? Easiest place to check VREF is at the TPS.

I got 4.7 volts from vref. Just cleaned the case ecu ground, the main ground on the block and the small one by the battery with no change in ect reading.

But i am wondering if it is so important to have that value. I dont know if the computer really change the mixture and timing alot from 0.9 volt to 0.6 volts. I care because i have read somewhere that we must have 0.6 at normal operating temperature, and at 0.9v, the computer thinks the engine is at 165 f.
