Can I save my sons TC

My accident was very similar and I live in Northern Ontario so our cases may be dealt with in the same fashion. The guy who hit me had no insurance and the accident was his fault. Due to "no fault" insurance, My insurance handled the claim and they paid me out and they , in turn, seek damages from the individual or his insurance which doesn't exist. The guy was hit with a 5,000.00 fine at the scene plus another 1,000.00 for careless driving. According to the cop, they knew this guy and he won't pay a dime. He will spend about a month in jail and that would be the end of it. He'll be driving again in no time. So be very carefull how you deal with it as you wouldn't want your son to suffer a similar fate. As for my car, I'm posting a couple of pics to show you. I could have had my car done with filler but I insisted on steel. You can still get a new Q-panel from Ford but it's 1,000.00. My car was written off as the lowest estimate I could get was 5,500.00 only painting the one side. The insurance gave me 4,000.00 and the car which surprised me as I never thought I'd get that much. I bought another in Akton, Ontario which is near you. If it helps you , my son had contacted an individual just outside of Toronto with 2 mint doors and a trunk lid that he wouldn't separate for 500.00. Parts are hard to find and the price of these cars seem to have jumped a bit. I was accross Canada on Kijiji, Autotrader as well as in the States on Buzztrader and there were slim pickings. I would expect things to change in the spring. Now I find myself with a super nice replacement for a super nice TC that I still wish I could fix. I don't know how much any of this info will help but I know when it happened to me in September of 08 any info or opinions I could get was appreciated.

My appologies, for some reason I had the idea that you were from Toronto Ontario so my info is probably useless to you. Good luck anyway.

You know what, I'm making the assumption that the other guy HAS insurance.
