I have an FMS unit and want to extend it buy replacing the bar plate with a 24" Length bar plate core and welding the FMS end tanks to it. I am currently running 23-26psi on cool nights with water/meth spray kicking in at 20psi without any detonation. However I'm shooting for 30psi.(yes, I will be running bigger 85#injectors)

I want to keep it visually smog legal by retaining the FMS unit, just modified.I can do this by extending the IC horizontally to about 24", but the darn safety latch will be in the way, and its not possible to keep the FMS IC in stock location. I would either have to lower it 3-4", or can I cut a groove in the bar plate so that it doesnt interfere with the secondary hood latch?
