Oh that's interesting...so it's possibly just there as something that might have been hooked up if one had automatic then?
Still haven't got back at it, been raining a lot here.

Not likely. I don’t have such an unconnected hose (and I have a slightly modified T5OD transmission). For the most part, Ford did not include what you didn’t need, for whatever model you had.

The notable exception to this would be the genius idea to include an alternate wiring harness for the stereo system, tucked just to the left of the glove box, which would allow you to bypass Ford’s odd speaker wiring setup in case you wanted to install an aftermarket stereo head unit. Having this meant you did not have to rewire the existing system and run a pair of wires to each speaker—all you needed was a readily-available aftermarket adapter to fit the Ford connector.
Another proud dues-paying member.

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....

I doubt it.  I just didn’t know what you were working on.
