Possibly, I'll go by tomorrow and check it out. Your talking about a standard 1 car trailer and pick-up, 35~40ft long, correct? Is the car drive able for a short distance? There is a very large parking lot about 2 block south of the Top Notch that empty until about 7:00PM. It belongs to a Country Nightclub and I know the owner. I'm sure I could get permission from him you to park there for sure. Take a look at the satellite image here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=30....6&t=h&z=18

The long building with the light blue roof at the lower left has the parking lot I'm talking about, and it's usually that empty like that most days. Go up past 2 blocks on Burnet Rd. and you'll see the Top Notch on the right. Parking's a little tight in there but you might be able to get a trailer in the back of the lot, zoom in on the image and you can see it. But Like I said, I'll take close look Saturday and let you know.

Yea, it would be a crewcab pickup and trailer. The car is easily driveable around town. I just didn't want to drive it on a 600 mile round trip with no overdrive or A/C.

I would love to see your car!! Come on down. If they wont let you park there, you can always park at my hotel with all the T-birds trailers for the convention. Its about 3 miles away.

boosted chicken,
The weather is awful here today but I but I did go by Top Notch and check the parking. Take a look at the google street view here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=austin,+tx&hl=en&ll=30.351306,-97.733817&spn=0.016665,0.033023&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=61.540818,135.263672&hnear=Austin,+Travis,+Texas&t=h&z=16&l ayer=c&cbll=30.351169,-97.733909&panoid=L2sO63yUP3OcCdxjjreIyA&cbp=12,125.54,,0,5.14

The long parking area along the wall of the furniture store would be an easy place to get your truck and trailer in. Normally, there would likely not be many cars parked in that area on a Saturday afternoon. But like a earlier post pointed out, there are a lot of car related things going on in Austin that weekend, so I just don't know if that area will be free or not.
There is a auto repair place across the street( if you rotate the view around, you can see it) with a big grassy area in front. It's closed on Saturday and you could easily get your rig in there, but it is private property so I can tell you if it's ok to park for a little while or not.

The parking lot at the Nightclub I mentioned before is here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=austin,+tx&hl=en&ll=30.347972,-97.735898&spn=0.016666,0.033023&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=61.540818,135.263672&hnear=Austin,+Travis,+Texas&t=h&z=16&l ayer=c&cbll=30.347867,-97.73597&panoid=cUbaXpOvIKqBNKYNNnGPzA&cbp=12,104.16,,1,3.33

Just happens, a flatbed with a dozer on it was parked there that day. I was thinking you could park along that wall to the left of where the big truck is an be out of the way of what little traffic there is around the lot during the day.

One way or another, I think we can find a safe place to park your rig. I'm going by the club tonight and I'll talk to the owner and make sure it's ok with him so you will have 1 sure option if parking is too tight at the Top Notch. zbird mentioned another possible option. I'll keep looking around the area and may come up with a few more before the meeting.

"That's great Dom. I was thinking maybe Thor Power and me could drop by your T-Bird show about 1:30-2:00 to to give you a little Turbo Coupe group."

That's an affirmative "lonestar7"! Let's do that. There's another "undercover" '88 T-Bird owner that I know lives in Pflugerville, TX that might want to go. I'll contact him.

Bring 'em on!! It will be a T/C invasion!! I do not plan on telling my Club members that you are coming. I want them to be surprised by my NATO Club members showing up.

boosted chicken,

I talked the the club(Bill Thompson) owner last night and he said it would be no problem for you to park there Saturday as long as you can be out by 7:00PM when most of his staff start arriving. So, you have a place to park your rig that's near by and easy to got in and out of if you decide to come. If you do decide to come, email me you name and a description of your truck and I will give it to Bill so he'll know it's you who's parked there. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for all the leg work, lonstar! I thought I had my C4 conversion wrapped up today, but I developed a bad fluid leak from the trans front pump. The trans is back out for further diagnosis.

Trans is fixed and back in the car. Man, it runs great with the Dirty Dog converter! Drives nice and mild until you put your foot in it, then hang on!!
