Do you need caster camber plates if you lower your car? I know upgraded caster camber plates will allow to make further adjustments to your lowered car, but how low can you get with the stock stuff? I'm only looking to drop 1-1.5", would I need C/C plates?

BTW, does anyone know the spring code for the Mustang 4 cyl springs?

Based on what I have heard others say you can go about 1" and not need CCs. Between 1" and 1.5" is kind of a grey area. More than 1.5" and you got to have them.

If you drop at all,go with the c/c plates.Unless you have LOTS of extra $$$ for tires.1 inch of drop= like 7 degrees of negitive camber(bad for inside edge of tires).Just my $.02

Too much fun, what's that mean? That's like too much boost, there's no such thing.

Yea, I am going to do that, I'm going with PRC replacement, KYB Gasajust quads, mustang 4 cyl springs (probably), PST front end kit or just energy suspension bushins all around, the C/C plates, maybe a rear lower control arm upgrade. I figure I'll probably be lowered an inch and it will ride excellent. I'm not really looking for sports car handling, eventhough I know I would be able to push this car hard in turns. I'm just looking for nice, quiet ride without these huge clunks I keep getting.

sandman, how are the mustang springs on your TC? Do you know the spring code for the 4 cyl springs?

I've got a complete set of springs from an 86 Mustang 5.0, will these lower my 88 T/C if I swap them?
1988 T/C Silver with red interior, fully loaded except for leather. 5 lug conversion with 97 Cobra wheels, Cobra 13" brakes up front, Mustang brakes out back, Koni adjustable shocks and struts, NOS Koni lowering springs . Maximum Motorsports control arms and caster/camber plates, subframe connectors.
SOLD September 2020. Will miss this car after 19 years of building/driving/showing....time for a new chapter in my life.

My 88's suspension has been dropped 1" with Eibach Springs and I had to drop my tire size down by 1". These mods were made about 5 years ago. I am not running CC plates and I do not have any problems with tire wear. If you lower the suspension more than 1", you will need to use CC plates since there is not enough adjustment.

I have Maximum Motorsports plates with stock springs and Koni Red struts, much more responsive than on the firm setting but it doesn't beat you up at all, what an AMAZING difference in the way the car steers. I have a solid Flaming River steering shaft also for the headers which adds to it. As far as noise, I really don't notice any difference from the stock struts compared to the new ones with the CC plates. I need TIRES though...I am running stock CRAP that came on my car when I bought it...
