Copied and pasted from Turboford:

One of our members (Bruce aka ohsoslowtc) has been fixing up a TC for his daughter and has spent a good amount of time and money on it.
Here is the car shortly after it was painted:

Here is what it looks like after a 17 yr old girl with no license and no insurance ran a yield sign and slammed into it:

Bruce's daughter was driving and aside from being real sore and some bruising, she will be ok. She told me the car was her pride and joy, but I told her the car did it's job protecting her. Cars can be fixed or replaced.....not so easy with people.

The car is at the body shop and Bruce wants to fix it. I posted in the wanted section for a 87-88 TC roller. He may just get a door and front fender (body shop can fix the rest), but would rather have a complete parts car. Anyone have a lead on one within a day's drive of West Texas, let me know.

Edit: Think we found a good roller about 20 miles away. Going to look at it in a couple of days.

The car did it's job of protecting the driver, can't ask for much more than that. Never had it happen to me, but I know how bad that must suck though, to put all that money/time into a car and then have it permanently damaged/tweaked by a moron. Even after they repair it, it will never be exactly the same again. Nature of the beast out there though, only takes one bad driver...

Dang, did a number on that bird. Glad no one got hurt, hopefully the driver of the other car won't be getting a real license anytime soon.

Glad she's ok. Like everyone said a car can be replaced. I had a drunk driver wreck my Tbird in a similar way. I was VERY impressed with the door lock and hinge. I could see outside the door well but the door was in tact, and as mentioned it did it's job. Guess that's one good thing about a "heavy" car. I would say try to fix it, the door, rocker panel, etc. Looks like a lot of work was done to it already. Even though a car might not be the same after an accident I think it can be just as good. Someone rear ended my G35. I told the body shop I planned on keeping the car for a long time. My friend that new them said he still has a 88 tbird if that tells you anything. Let them know you want to keep it for a long time and let them take there time fixing it and fixing it right. My G35 drives just as good as it did, no issues or noises! The other persons insurance company didn't like the timeline but they had no choice it was my car and their clients fault.
