WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS IF THE HARD METAL BRAKE LINES ON THE 86 TURBO COUPE ARE THE SAME AS THE 87 TURBO BIRDS? I SAW CLASSIC TUBE SELLS A COMPLETE PRE-BENT BRAKE LINE KIT FOR THE 86,BUT NOT 87-88 CARS. MINE ARE RUSTED OUT AND EVERYTIME I REPLACE ONE LINE ANOTHER STARTS TO LEAK. I SPENT TODAY REPLACING THE METAL LINES OVER THE REAR AXLE,AS SOON AS I STARTED TO BLEED THE REAR CALIPERS,THE METAL LINE BY THE FUEL FILTER AREA LET GO. I JUST WANT TO REPLACE THEM ALL AND BE DONE WITH IT.THANKS.

They are not the same.

Classic Tube does make the hard metal lines for 87-88 TBirds, you have to call and ask for them.

THANKS FOR THE INFO,I WILL GIVE THEM A CALL MONDAY.WHILE UNDER THIS CAR LOOKING AT THE BRAKE LINES,I NOTICED THE FUEL LINES WERE ALSO PRETTY RUSTED AND SOMEONE HAD SPLICED RUBBER LINES IN.WHAT CONCERNS ME IS THEY ARE ABOVE THE EXHAUST,I WOULD HATE TO SEE THEM START TO LEAK ON THE HOT EXHAUST.ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN BUY REPLACEMENTS? I DONT THINK YOU CAN REPLACE THEM WITH PLAIN STEEL LINES AS THE ENDS ARE FORMED TO ATTACH TO THE PLASTIC LINES.THANKS.

Ask Classic Tube. They make fuel lines as well. They should have all of this stuff as I sent them some originals years ago. That's how I got them to make the SS braided brake hoses for me.

That's http://www.classictube.com , please correct me if I'm wrong, Mike.

As an aside, typing messages in all caps is considered screaming and rude. Studies have also shown that it's harder to read than normal upper/lower case.

You an old Ham TTY guy by chance?

Well I guess if its considered screaming, that fits me fine, cause I was screaming alot at that car this weekend. As far as old Ham TTY guy goes, not sure what that means, but after laying under that car all weekend,I'm feeling kind of old.

Ham = amateur radio operator, TTY = teletypewriter.
A mode of textual comms that hams used to employ before computers became available.

The metal line kit is part #TB1018, $155 in steel, $179 in SS.

The SS hoses for the front and rear come in a complete kit, part #SBH6304 for $181.83 direct from them and $179.99 from me.

They were all patterned off of a set of 87 TC lines I sent in 3 or so years ago.
