ITs me again with another, wonderful question, (lol, not really) Well Im finally
a position to replace my bp sensor, I know with all of the ignition parts, They should be motorcraft specific. Does this apply here as well.is there any certain brand, anyone has had a problem with?I have found one that lists for 49.99 from advance auto, heres the part # Niehoff Ignition FE1607
Barometric Pressure Sensor: O.E. No. E3ZZ-12A644-A,E7FZ-12A644-A , also heres the link where I found it. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList....O%20Sensor

What I am wondering will this work? It is what they have listed for the turbo coupe. Also its about 20$ cheaper than rock auto and about 25$ cheaper than auto Zone. Every dollar I can save helps. IT really stinks, decideing on weather to buy extra necessities, or car parts (that I really need) THANKS IN ADVANCE< ALL HELP AND REPLIES ARE SO GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Stick with the Ford part for the BARO sensor. This sensor is quite complex internally (it is a solid state variable capacitance manometer), and you need one built well that 100% meets Ford specs. The Ford BARO/MAP sensors are manufactured by Motorola for Ford. See if you can find out who manufacturers the Niehoff part. If it isnt Motorola, dont buy it.

The manufacturer of the sensor, That isnt something they would probably know at the parts store? Or would they? Think I might find it somewhere online? Thanks again!

I would post in the wanted section for a used one. The failure mode isnt very high on these, and I suspect you can have one to your door for $20 or so. I dont have a spare one, or I would offer it up.

Stay away from Niehoff - they're CHEAP JUNK! As Jeff said, go with Ford or NAPA has an Echlin unit #CRB219000 for $86. Echlin is high quality!

Could always hit the JY. As Bob said, failure rates on MAP/BARO sensors is pretty low, and any JY one you find will likely be good. BTW, the BARO and MAP sensors are electrically identical, and it is likely much easier to find a MAP sensor at the JY form any speed density 80s/ very early 90s Ford.

I noticed the same looking sensor on my uncles 88 lx 5.0 mustang, WOuld that be the same as the one on our cars? OR does it have to come form a speed density specific ford? (pre 88 stang) OR Does it have to come off of a tc, The junk yard I normally deal with didnt have a tc just I think 2 87-88 birds, one v6 one v8. And an 85/86 or two .Car runs worse and worse everyday. I didnt think I was gonna make it to work this morning. GOt there and gave a shot at pulling the codes with my hooptie scanner, heres what I got,
83,22,22,74,26,52,22,74,26,5 (scanner just quit, hence caling it a pos). MY scanner is a POS, but I will try to get to the AUto ZOO and see if they can scan it for me. I just cannot say it enough, THANKS!

Doesnt have to come from a TC.... pre 88 Stang, 5.0 or 3.8 tbird, 80s/early 90s crown vic 5.0, Speed density Taurus, etc, etc. All the MAP/BARO sensors are electrically identical, and will plug right in to the TC. If it looks like the TC BARO, it will work.
