I recently noticed that when I accelerate hard my boost gauge gets to about 15PSI, holds strong and then slowly decreases to about ten while still at full throttle.
Is there anything I can check over or do to help this problem?

If it was a boost leak, I would think you would have problems with a rich air-fuel ratio due to the escaping pressurized air. I would start by looking at possible problems with the wastegate and the turbo itself. DOes the turbo make any screeching noises, etc?

I agree with Jeff that first looks ought to be the turbo and the WG
Take the VAM hose and the inlet tube off the turbo. Check the shaft for side play and end play. The should be almost none. Look for witness marks on the compressor housing and the back plate. Witness marks would be a sure sign of the compressor blades hitting the housing.

There is no sounds coming from the turbo and the car does smell like it is running a bit rich.

Then pull the code and if it is rich run the fuel system diagnostic the help find out why.
