I'm helping cousin transplant an 88tc engine into a 93 ranger for his senior project. Dont worry, the car was rotted beyond repair and the engine was purchased from a fellow NATO member. Anyways, we removed the unneccesary wires from the tc engine harness, but have extras left. Can somebody email or post a link to the body harness diagrams. From memory the extra connectors may be to the hydraulic brakes and prc systems. Any diagrams or help is appreciated. Thanks guys. Tom [email protected] is my email

Tom, I can send you scans from the EVTM, if we can figure out what you need. The EVTM is only the most commonly needed circuits, not every circuit in the car. For that, you need a special Electrical diagrams book - a big thing 18" high and 14"? wide. Some pages are bifold and trifold so the pages get real big.

Anyway, Jeff K could probably help with whats in the main harness. Also turbod has experience with it.

I will send you what I have on the PRC and the ABS circuits

Thanks Pete. We seem to be missing a few connectors as I think a few run into the body harness. We may put the computer in the factory ranger location and make our own harness from the connectors and factory wires. Thanks for the diagrams. Theyll be of great help. Tom

The big problem is that the ABS and PRC wiring are all part of the main harness, as you probably know.

Personally, I have never found a wire in the car that wasnt shown in the EVTM, but as with most electrical diagrams, a wire 1 inch long on the diagram can actually be running from one end of the car to the other.

From memory (I am at work now), there are a few wires from the PCM you wont need..... one is the wire that the PCM sends a signal to the PRC computer to go to FIRM with large throttle openings. The other is the DOL output used for the tripminder. From what I remember, the ABS is 100% independent from the PCM and PRC, except for the brake pressure switch under the TC MC that sends a signal to the PRC only (not the PCM) to tell it to go FIRM of rear brake pressure exceeds 400 psi.

Thanks for the info Jeff. We ended up making a custom harness from the tc harness. Basically we put the LA3 in the factory ranger location and shortened all the necissary wires to the sensors. The wires are now only about 12in long. The harness was becomming a mess with splices and connectors with 1 wire in them, but the wire wasnt in the diagrams. So I made the call to shorten and simplify it. I'll be headed back in the next few weeks to help him finish it and get it running. Thanks for the info. Tom
