Does anyone know what the blue 20 gauge fuseable link is for? It off the main yellow wire connected to starter solenoid, it is with 5 other fuseable links...
My has burnt through the wire insulation and I have no spark from the coil.....
Thanks in advance

Been searching for some time now and Chiltons and Haynes don't list the Turbo ignition wiring diagram, it does list for the 5.0 and the blue fusiable link is for ignition, any help would be greatly appreciated.
FYI don't follow the book for ignition coil replacement, it states take out bracket bolts, much easier to remove 4 small coil bolts that hold coil to bracket than to take out entire bracket, you have to remove old coil from bracket anyway, no need to remove bracket

not 100%, but I do believe that fuseable link is ignition-related. I'll try to confirm that tomorrow in my manuals if no one chimes in before then. You can try bypassing it temporarily and see if you get spark afterwards.

What year TC? I have the charge power distribution diagrams for 88. These show the fusible link circuits. Email me if you want them.
The circuit coming out of the 20 gauge blue link (Fusible link K)(EVTM, pgs 28 and onto 29) goes to another yellow wire, circuit 37 which goes through Splice 350 to the EEC, terminal 1 (on page 66 of the 1988 EVTM)
A branch off of S-350 goes to the under hood light

Thanks Pete & B, year is 1988 (I updated signature to include).
Pete sent you an email.
I have finally found a 20 gauge fuse link (used from recyclers), not easy in Canada. Ford suggested after market. I tried everyone and only Napa and Car Quest carries the links but only up to 18 gauge, 20 can't be found after 7 different companies (including Performance Improvements) Amazon has them for $1.95 Ford list for $29 & $44 for eyelets for a a two pack and 4 pack, but they are backordered (they weren't sure they could even get them....
Ford Part #'s in case anyone wants them:

Thanks Pete
Very much appreciated, I have changed the fusible link and coil and still no spark, so I created a new post with details.

doing more searching on the board and found this: (Thanks Pete!)
Pin 11 (RUN) on the ignition switch should have a R/LG wire coming from it. Pin 12 (START) has a BR/PK wire coming from it. both these wires go to fuse link H (20 gauge, blue) (located real near the starter relay)
Coming out of fuse link H is a R/LG wire that runs to the battery side of the coil and also branches to the TFI Also coming out of Link H is LG/R that goes to the alternator. I'm thinking if you disconnect the battery and check continuity between pin 11 (ign switch) and the battery side of the coil that will check fuse link H and wiring. Then do pin 11 and the R/LG wire to the TFI. Maybe then do pin 12, ign switch, hold switch in START position, and the same two points as above.

Just had the same thing happen to me.I washed the bird yesterday and put it in the garage.Today I had the hood open while the wife was cleaning the inside,I was checking the fluids and when I shut the hood I heard an unusual noise and then smoke from between the hood and fender. My blue fusible link had burned up.What had happened was the wire from my hood light had been rubbing between the hood and insulation and finally just at the moment I shut the hood it made some really good contact and shorted out. But just imagine my fears when I saw the smoke.
