blower posessed

Starting yesterday, the heater blower comes on and goes off by itself. The electronic climate control is off, but all of a sudden it just starts blowing medium to full blast out the a/c vents. A/c comp. isn't engaged as the air it's blowing isn't cold. Comes on, goes off, comes on.... I also noticed that the temp. # went out, I hit the steering column and it came back on. Does the ignition switch have anything to do with this? Very inconsistent. Thanks... Chuck
