I just picked up a T3 from the jy, and removed the exhaust elbow. The exhaust compressor wheel has black carbon on it(At least that's what it looks like). Is that OK or does that mean I need to have it rebuilt? The front end or front compressor wheel looks perfect and there is absolutely no play. Let me know because I am giong to install this unit ASAP.

That would be normal...after all it is the exhaust side...

What you need to worry about is shaft play end to end and side to side.
