So after a few fun years my throw-out bearing/possibly pressure plate/possibly retainer bearing housing went out. When you start it the bearing just kinda whines like crazy. Runs great otherwise lol. Car has been sitting for over a month and half now. I don't have the place to even think about attempting to drop the trans myself. Car has ran great on the PIMP for the past year or so. Sucks I don't have the extra cash to do it and my daily beater is not so hot either.
Getting more concerned about having a daily beater that doesnt have 250k on it now is priority lol. I dont have much of a desire to fix this ole bird either lately the body is semi rough in a few spots too which just demotivates me even more. Just more of a rant I guess more then anything lol.
Anyone want a TC that needs work...

wait wait before you forever leave with all your tbird knowledge... did you ever get the IAC worked out on the throttle body swap? Don't give up on her!! Ever think about swapping the whole mess over? I mean you'd be going way over a throw out bearing job, but it may spark some inspiration! The east coast must be spendy, we can get 4 banger DDs all day long on craig's list for change. Escort GTs are cheap and fun enough with the Mazda 16 valve. I picked one up for $900 winter of 2013. Invested a little over $1200 in parts (including $600 tires) and I'd take that thing anywhere over the bird or the SHO!

Oh yeah the IAC/TB was all sorted out a while ago. Def a improvement in throttle response but nothing thats going to snap your neck lol.
Yeah I mean I talk about it like its a major ordeal but in reality its only a matter of time with a 5 speed. East coast can get pricey and reliable 4 banger not super rusty beaters are like a unicorn sometimes.
I wish I had the space and means to do a ranger swap. I know its kinda blasphemous lol. Something about a small truck with a ballsy motor always intrigued me.

I am fortunate enough to have a driveway it's not in the greatest of shape and it's not exactly flat in most spots lol.

You could do a complete clutch job in one to two days with 1-2 guys help and the lure of magic lotion (beer). Get parts ahead of time (new flywheel or allow time to get old one resurfaced - a must) You have a lot of time and work in the TC. This is just a minor bump in the road, Ian.
