I used the nylon rope and it worked fine. I think next time I would probably go for the air though.

I used rope. I still have the essy tool to remove the followers and compress the springs in no time. You can borrow it if you need it. If you are using compressed air the psi has to be really high to hold em shut. I think you need a little over 100 psi.

Sir if you have a compressor that can produce 120 LBS its good to go. I never used the rope system and really cant say if it works. But it sounds like i would use your compressor. Here is a tip to make the job easier. Once the cylinder is full of AIR or ROPE. and the rocker is removed. Use a small hammer and break away the retainers from the keepers by tapping the retainers on the side of their rim. This will release them and you will know when this happens because the feel of the hammer will get springy. This is necessary to not push the valve down with the crow foot tool. Thanks and good luck on you spring change. Another thing you might want to do is replace the stem seals at the same time. Have a good morning SIR

Good call Paulie.

Its a PITA to replace springs (especially double springs) so you might as well do that while your in there.
