What year TC?
88TC 5speed, 160,000+, ranger roller, Evergreen T3, cone filter, manual boost controller.
One parts car still waiting to be taken apart.
Waiting in the garage: SC throttle body, SC intercooler, graphic equalizer, among other things.

87-88. He has an 88 and wants to swap in a donor car 88 5speed setup.

His main questions...
Is there drilling involved with installing the 5 speedo peddles?

Can he just plug in the LA3 without repinning?

Can he use the same drive shaft?

he already figured out that the hump area of the 5 spd shfit area can be unbolted(while cutting it out. LOL!!)

He is currently looking at a mustang swap link but that maynot be as simple as a TC to TC swap. I thought for sure we would have a complete write up in the FAQ section.

I PM'd a member on here a while ago and this is what he told me about the swap

"The T5 swap was very easy. I used all the parts from my 87 TC to do the conversion. I pulled the whole dash out to install the pedals because my dash is very easy to remove, but I have read it is possible with it in also. One of the only problems I ran into was the car's wiring harness plug didnt match the harness plug from the 87 T5, but it just took some repinning to get over that. My buddy who helped me with the swap had just swapped his 2.3T Mustang to a T5 the week before and said it was just as easy."

Just done mine you do not have to drill anything I swapped in a hydraulic unit. The boot on the bottom of the steering colum has to be changed cause that is where the clutch master is mounted. You need the manual driveshaft and the trans crossmember. I did plug in the la3 computer but when you hook up the clutch switches your door ajar lights come on and it made my car idle higher. There is a wire that comes off the computer that needs cut and grounded and then it all worked as it should I think it was pin 30 on the computer but look at a wiring diagram to make sure. I did not have to make the floor hole bigger.
