Battery draining

Car is 88 with every option. My problem is when the temperatures at night get in the 20-30s something is draining the battery. Battery is new and battery cables have been replaced. Also, when I get into the car the Firm Ride light is blinking with an associated weak sounding buzzer going off every time the light blinks. When the battery has a good charge the light and buzzer are normal. The buzzer is not a sound I have ever hear in this car(not the same tone as when the door is open). Thanks, crich

Is the firm light blinking without the key being in the ignition?

yes, It blinks without the key in the ignition

1. What postiton is the ride control switch in? move it to the other postition and see if anything changes.

2. Do the turn signals work WITHOUT the key in the ignition? If they do, suspect the ignition switch or the connector and wiring to the switch. The ign switches do go bad and they cause funny things to happen when they do.

Checked this morning and yes the turn signals work with the ignition off, but only when the battery is drained low and the firm light and the buzzer are going off.

I had a problem with my ABS system draining my battery. When you here the buzzing is it coming from the pump below the master cylinder. If so change the two relays for the ABS. Mine was sticking and would do this once in a while. It keeps the pump running and quickly drains the battery overnight. The relays are mounted in a plastic box on the firewall just to the left of the ABS system. I bought the relays at NAPA about $22.00 a piece. Good luck.

88 Tc 211,000 miles slowly rebuilding to stock. Silver with red leather interior loaded with all the toys. My second TC in 1988 bought one as my first new car purchase missed it ever since I sold it in 1991.So far new clutch,replaced fuel injectors valve cover gasket leaked like crazy, emergency brake cables, Updated radio to kenwood hooked right in to equalizer and all works greatand last and the worst was the heater core What a *%&$*%! pain

Replace the ignition switch.... an easy and cheap repair..... $10 / 1/2 hour work.

rouchracing.... If the hyd brake boost pump runs with the ignition off, it is only necessary to replace the pump relay, not both relays.
