So I found this car a week and a half ago, been trying to get my grubby hands on an 87-88 TC forever but am always one step behind, the price was right so I grabbed up this cougar instead. I picked up some new plug wires for the car tonight and put them on, car starts and runs better but the battery light is on now!

While I was doing the wires I noticed the battery clamps were not that tight so I snugged them up, thats the only things I touched while under the hood. After noticing the battery light I went and checked the 3 wires on the alt, the 3-way connector, voltage reg plug, and I replaced the battery post clamps with a new pair as the old bolt on ones were pretty crusty (dont worry, I'll fix it properly soon) Still the battery light stays on.

I checked the battery voltage and its around 13v key off, and 14.6v idling at the battery clamps and the same on the posts. I gave up for the night as it got dark and the weather sucks but I'm gonna go through all the wiring connections again tomorrow morning one last time before getting angry at it.

Help Please!

Got it figured out this mornin. The "s" wire off the alt got broken but the shrink tube on the connector was still holding it together, another ring terminal and some heat shrink and I'm back in business!
