Bad injector?

Replaced the seal again on the no1 injector, after about 5 minutes with the key on, it is coated in fuel. Not dripping or anything. I noticed that even on the top by the electrical connector it was wet, and the hole in the brown hat there was also wet. I wouldn't put it past my TC to defy the laws of physics. But even the stuff opposite gravity is getting wet; that little ridge next to the hole where the brown meets silver for instance, which is directly on top considering the connector is leaning towards the rear of the car.
Bad injector, right?

I have run across the injector itself leaking more than 0 rings that start leaking. I have seen them leak from the middle where metal meets plastic, and have seen them leak from the electrical connector where the pins enter the body of the inj. Try blasting the inj clean with brake cleaner, and pressurizing the fuel system (key on/off a few times), and carefully watching the inj to see if you can pinpoint the source of the leak.

Thanks for the experience info, Jeff. I did clean it off really good before putting the new rings on. I believe it's leaking where the plastic meets the metal; fuel is even seeping on the top by the connector.

Sounds like it is time for a new injector. [Image: frown.gif]
