Back speakers on premium sound system

Okay I'm going to sound like a real dolt here, but after driving my 88 TC with Premium sound the last 7 years, I never noticed the back speakers were not working.

Now, I've noticed the button the premium deck is a bit finicky.. if it's not jammed in just right, it can have a situation where things 'partially' work. However I'm sure I've got it in right, and when I dial the balance back to the rear, I can still hear some sound up front, but nothing in back. I'm wondering if something's simply disconnected.. do the wires from the back speakers run uninterrupted right to the deck? I noticed under my front seat, there is a small connector just sitting there with nothing to connect to.. has a proper plastic connector on the end...

Well there's a small amp behind the back seat. Maybe the problem is there.

Hey Pete -- if not inconvenient, would you mind sending those again? Something's up with the email account attached to my profile -- I had to change it as nothing was coming in there.

88turbo--- i will check that out... I don't recall seeing it.. just the two speakers and wires running to points behind the seat.. but I wasn't looking too hard.. Smile

If you have the premium sound system, it has the amp that is located on an aluminum pull down panel behind the rear seat.

Thanks Pete!!

Okay.. I'm wondering now... behind the driver seat, popping out of the carpet, are two wires
with connectors that look like they mate together.. except they're not long enough to reach... wondering if those have anything to do with it? Attached a pic..

I'm guessing here, it's been awhile, one of them nearest to trans tunnel may be part of the seat belt "latched" system. I'll have to take a look at mine tomorrow.
