I want to know if I twizt them together will it stay on firm or will it mess the system up?

I have never mess with a autoride control system befor. So please if anyone knows about the wires tell me.

Thanx

Per the 88 EVTM:
"With the ignition switch in RUN, power flows through fuse 5 to the PRC Module. Power from fuse 5 is available to the Hard and Soft Shock Relays.

With the PRC switch turned to ON, power flows through Fuse 5 to the PRC Module. This turns on the automatic circuit in the module, energizing the Soft Shock Relay. This allows power to flow through Fuse Link Q to the Shock Actuators rotating them to the soft setting."

Switch ON (wires twisted together), system will stay in FIRM mode all the time. Switch in OFF position (wires not connected) system will be in AUTO mode. The switch can be blasted with contact cleaner or taken apart and cleaned to provide factory functionality.

I have to dusagree with JeffK on this one AND this one only JeffK knows everything about everything. But i tried this ideaa of wireing them toghter and to my disgrace the ran was still soft. The relay's work with one another it was not that easy as to just wire them toghter on my car. I bought two different relay's to work the soft and hard setting's ran power to both, then ran power to a new switch. ON mine switch on ment SOFT switch off ment FIRM. after i spent a few hours tring my method out with new relay's switch and ways to get firm ride to work by itself under hard braking or turning quickly. to switch to firm by itself. i finally got to the point where it would almost work. then trashed my method and went to coil over's. LoL BUT on my 88 it was not as easy as putting them toghter and its firm but my car as not been anywhere close to where any book has said about TC's anyways.

The default mode, switch off, is firm. Yes, replace the switch. If the system worked before it should work again.

Ok then why is there juz 2 wires to the switch?????

How does it know witch on it is in with 2 wires? Whare are those wires for then? Are the ground or hot?

I am not following with this. Wireing is not my best and when it come to traceing wires down I either dypass everthing or say f it and sale the dang thing.

If I can't do a simple fix on this then I will be saleing the dam car.

So if your close to columbus ohio you can buy it lmao

It is possible that I didnt remember correctly.... havent messed with the PRC system, other than an activator replacement in 5+ years. What I do remember is that when I first got my TC (which was in sad shape) the PRC was in AUTO mode no matter what the switch position. I remember checking the switch continunity and finding it open at all times. I took it apart and cleaned it, and got back the auto and firm modes.
