Are there any auto tranny's that will swap into a tc that will hold up to the hp created? I would love to go down the interstate at less than 4000 rpm and get more than 15 mpg(C4 @ approx. 80mph). At one point in time I heard something about explorer tranny. Is this correct or have I gone mental?

The A4LD rebuilt with explorer internals will be more durable than one with stock internals. The one I had rebuilt held up to 17-18psi blasts all the time and is now doing the same in someone else's car.
