Auto Dim Rear View Mirror Wiring ?

I have a Ford electrochromatic (not the motorized) auto dim mirror that has a very ambiguous wire harness. Basically three wires, all solid black. This mirror also has headlight auto dim eye with the same connector as the stock mirror. I searched for wiring info, but no luck... I would think that there is a power, ground and most likely a reverse sense wire to not dim the mirror in reverse. It isn't really a big deal for that... just don't want to cause any damage by hooking it up incorrectly (power and ground)

If anyone has any wiring info, that would be great. I assume I would have to supply power to the mirror anytime the key is in the run position... Is there an easy way to get power when only the headlights are on? Can't use a dash light since they are on the panel dim circuit.

The diagrams I have for later cars show you are correct. If you can identify the ground wire the other two wires are both 12v inputs, one for hot in run power and the other for reverse so you could apply power to these without damage to mirror. The power wire would be the one that darkens the mirror when you shine a bright light in it.

You could get power from the tail light circuit.
