Has anyone had luck repairing the door panel arm rests. Mine are not torn but are separating. Any ideas or experience would be appreciated.

I've brought mine to a local upholstery shop and they installed new plastic clips that holds it in the door, and re-stretched the "leather" and re-secured with staple looking doo-dads. Cost $50 for a pair and they look/work great.

I reglued mine and held them with a vise. After that I used small rivets with washed heads to hold it in place. I put 4-6 in each one.

I think I'll try contact cement and then pop-rivet them. I've got boxes of rivets left over from my days of dirt tracking. Back then I would hold a whole car together with rivets and tie straps.

I agree with Michael. Mine are at the upholstery shop as we speak.....along with the rest of the interior. The old Bird sure looks funny with out an interior.
