The arm rest pads on my 88TC keep coming off. I purchased the white replacement barbs at PartsAmerica, but they break easily. I was wondering if anyone has figured out a better way to hold them to the door panel?

My '87 uses the metal clips (just like the door panels on a '66 Mustang) while the '88 uses the plastic barbs. This puts the holes in differnet places in the metal base of the arm rest so they aren't interchangeable.

Can the metal clips used on the 87TC be used on the 88TC arm rests?

I got a pack of 25 of the metal clips for like 15 bucks at my local ford stealership.

Since National Parts Depot is about 3 miles from work I went there and got a pack of door clips for a '68 Mustang. Exactly the same and only cost a couple of bucks.

It was just the door panel clips for the older Mustangs. I'm pretty sure they are all the same. It appears that NPD doesn't have an online catalog.
