Anyone ever try to bleed their front brakes?

So, Um I cannot extract the bleeder screw from the caliper of my 1985 T-coupe. I keep hammering on smaller and smaller sockets and have only managed to make it very round and much smaller than the original.

Should I just hang it up and buy some reman's from the zone or what?

Will the rears suck this bad, or should I not even bother and just cut them off the back with a sawzall and get new....what ever those things are called on the rear.

Brain's not working too well right now, excuse the semi-retarded post.

Thanks,
Chris

Wheel cylinders! That the word I was looking for.

Oh man, it's been a long day.

At this point, probably your only way out is to hit it with something like liquid wrench and use a set of vice grips. If that fails, Auto Zone here we come!

Um, I sprayed it with PB blast and hit it with the propane for awhile and no dice.

Screw it. They're $14 per at Autozone.

I'm going to pick up my new master and calipers tonight.

Since they're so cheap at the Zone, if they even look dirty I just replace them. If you've tried good vice grips on the bleeders and they still won't budge, just go for new ones.

The only time I bothered to rebuild calipers was for my Mini van, since they're special four-piston calipers and cost over $500 plus shipping from England [Image: biggrin.gif]
