Hey All,
Brian Leavitt here. Yet again it's been awhile since I've been posted on the board so please pardon the long post.

I've been trying to get my '86 TC down here to Nokesville, VA from my dad's house in MD for a while now but with my wife in school and jobless it has not been happening. For the past 3 years I've been driving an SHO so the pain of not having my Bird has not been unbearable. Well, the SHO met it's maker and I'm stuck with a '90 Toyota Camry now so my frustration is again growing. Fortunately, so is my Dad's. I think he's at the point of paying to have it brought down here now.... woohoo!!

So on to the question at hand. I was wondering if there is anyone here who lives near the Manassas/Warrenton area in Virginia that might be willing to lend a hand with a lower engine rebuild at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future???

I love my TC and it has not been driven in something like 5 years (got started on the rebuild then.... only really got through about half of the teardown). I realize most of the people here now have no idea who I am. I was a member at the beginning of NATO, but having financial trouble at the time and not having my Bird running forced me to allow my membership to lapse. Hopefully in a couple of months (when my Wife graduates and gets a job) when I have to expendable income I will really be able to get on this thing.

I don't have really good manuals. I do have to info that Pete sent me a while back.....quite a while...like 3 years or something (Thanks again Pete). Will they still print the shop manuals for an 86?

Anyhoo.... Sorry for the life's story folks. And thanks for "listening"

Hey Brian,
I live in Fairfax and are looking to buy a home in the Warrenton area in the upcoming months. That is the reason I just had to sell my TC [Image: frown.gif] I have rebuilt engines ranging from Mazda rotaries to cummins diesels. If you need a hand with anything, let me know.

I have a couple manuals laying around for Thunderbirds....think from 83-88. I'll take a look.

**SOLD** [Image: frown.gif] 1988 TC 88k orignial miles, 5 Spd, mostly stock, K&N, B&M Ripper, 190LPH Walboro, Aeromotive adjustable FPR with gauge, exhaust coming soon. Looks a bit rough, but thanks to this board, runs great.

Hey Brian, glad to see you back on the board and even better to hear you are finally going to get your TC back on the road. Unfortunately I'm 3 hours away from you but I'm sure you'll find someone close by to help with the engine work. Good luck.

Pete,
I just read the post on the founding members. I can't believe it's been 5+ years already!! Where does the time go!? I also read the post about the manuals. That'll be very helpful in a couple of months. Thanks brother

Andrew,
I's sorry you had to sell your TC. But glad to hear you're coming "out west". I'm about a 20 minute drive from "down town" Warrenton. I just hope you won't have to hit 66 east in the morning to get to work!! (I do...they should call it 666, not 66). I haven't personally rebuilt any engines as of yet. Replaced an engine in my old Daytona, but never rebuilt. I would love the help of a guy who knows his way around an engine! Thanks!

Nate,
I'm happy to finally be getting back into the "scene". I have missed my ol' TC dearly. Right now my Dad uses it for box storage (which I yell at him about whenever I visit). The funny thing is, he can't park his car in the garage. My TC is sleeping soundly out of the weather where he would like his car to go. But that's the way it should be in my humble opinion. He drives a Toyota Camry.

Thanks guys,
B

P.S. I cannot remember for the life of me what my old login info for the forums was. In the past few years I have changed e-mail addresses a few times too. Anyone know if there's any way to retrieve the info or not?
