I got into my car and didn't realize that I sat on my seatbelt. I pulled it and maxed out the retractor and it didn't go back in. It would pull itself back in about 3" so I messed with it and pulled it a bunch of times trying to get it to retract. After that it completly maxed out and won't go back in at all. I checked the button in the door jam and it's not stuck. Has anybody had any luck fixing this problem? Changing it out is not going to be a problem but finding another dark blue seat belt might be hard. Anybody got one in dark blue they are willing to sell me?

Clean the mechanism throughly. The mechanism has a small pendulum at the bottom that locks the mechanism in case of a crash. The retractor portion of the mechanism uses a ratchet in which the pawl may be stuck.

I've rewound them in my stangs I've had over the years. Pretty easy to do. Can't remember the details though. Been a while.
