antilock brake sensor wire

this past weekend I replaced the struts & shocks on my 88TC. Got rid of the prc stuff
with Monroe parts. Man what a difference! It wasn't fun getting the strut bolts loose with a 1/2" drive rachet with an extension but I made it. Now what happened is the wire that runs down the strut that connects the antilock brake sensor got cut. Now of course the orange light on the dash stays on all the time. How can I replace this wire? Or if i don't what problems would this cause with the brakes. Does anyone have one of these parts? Please fill me in what I should do.

can't the wire just be spliced?

Pete,
I don't think so. It appears to be sort like a spark plug wire with what looks like a wire mesh just under the surface and a solid gray graphite wire in the middle. Bad description but that closest thing I can compare it to.

If you don't replace the antilock feature won't work. Other wise the brakes will function normally.

Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.

That cable is shielded wire very similar to TV coax cable. It is shielded since the signal from the wheel speed sensor is low voltage, about 200 to 300 millivolts at the most. It should work if you splice it. Cover the splice with RTV to waterproof it. Solder the connections.
