Another Idle thread

So I've been experience high idle AFTER the car warms up. Cold idle seems to be fine. I know I need to clean the IAC set base idle and adj the TPS. I'm also going to be looking for vacuum leaks etc. The one thing that worries me is that when I'm stopped at a light and the idle is high (2000 to 2500) and I mash on the brakes the idle dips down just a bit. So I'm thinking the power brake booster has a leak? Does anyone have pics of these off the car and maybe a vac diagram would bee good also. Is there a chance that this is something I can fix or am I going to have to pull and replace? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I'm new to Birds and their funky brake booster /master Cycliner /ABS combo frankenstien thingymabob.

One other issue that may or may not be of importance. I sometimes get a bouncy Tach between 3K and 4K. It's intermittent so I have now idea what type of electrical problem might be causing that and if it's related to the idle issue at all.

87-88 TC use a hydraulic pump and accmulator rather than a vacuum brake booster. You may have a vacuum leak but it isn't the brake booster system.

I would go over those things you mentioned first, clean the IAC set base idle and adj the TPS. Also pull the codes. See where this gets you.

Idle may dip a bit because because of increased electrical load from brake lights and brake hydraulic pump running. Tach may be bad contacts in connectors in the wiring harness. Probably neither symptom has anything to do with idle speed. If the high idle occurs after driving and coming to a stop shut the engine off and restart, if idle is now normal the TPS is probably worn and should be replaced.
