Air die grinder lubrication? (Air Tool Newbie!)

I have an Ingersol Rand 1/4" die grinder, it has a sticker that reads oil daily with an arrow pointing to the air inlet. There is no mention of what type or amount of oil. I searched online and can't find much at all except for the mention of an inline lubricators. The manual is in every language imaginable, with 2 whole pages in english... just shows a diagram of the air line, compressor, grinder etc with a lubricator installed near the compressor.

Do I need to get a lubricator to use this? Do most air tools require lubricators?

As you can tell I'm new to air tools! Just have a small portable craftsman compressor (4 gal) and am planning on grinding the alternator bracket for the 3g install.

There is a specific oil for these that you should be able to pick up at most auto parts or home improvement stores. I bought some a few months back at Lowes. Just put a couple of drops in the air inlet before each use and you'll be fine.

Sorry couldn't resist Big Grin that's really what it's called.

WE use power stearing fluid or hydrulic oil in the shop. Snap on and napa etc. Sells air tool oil but power stearing fluid works good and its cheap

so as you can see you can use almost any 'light' lubricant ; jack oil is also light ..

Marvel Mystery oil makes air tool oil too, thats what I use

its cheap and you only use a little so it 'last long time' ; splurge on a little container of good stuff Smile

I am really getting tired of oiling my air tools daily ... I have about 11-12 different .. takes a lot of time...

THe cheapest ATF you can find. All that we have used in our shop for years. Needs to lube but also seal and some smaller slower moving tools plain light oil allows blow by and reduces the tools' effectivness.
