Advice on selling

Hey all, I’m looking for advice on selling my turbo coupe. It’s a 87 5 speed in light regatta blue, fully optioned and I’ve done more work to it then it’s worth. It just ticked over 118k with a clean title, original paint and no rust anywhere. It’s mechanically a solid car I have been practically daily driving it for the past few months. The car is not show car trophy winning perfect but it is a very solid driver that will turn heads.

A little background on why I’m making a post here, I’ve owned the car for over three years now (it’s been to Carlisle the past three years if anyone’s seen it). I have learned a ton about these cars and one thing that has stood out about mine is I’ve never seen other like it. I’ve seen them in the same color but not with all the same options such as the dark blue leather. This has always made me question if there is more like it.

I know the car is probably worth around 7500 to 10k. I would love for the car to stay in the community as I believe it is a rather unique example of one. If anyone has any advice on selling a turbo coupe I’ll gladly take it.

Sorry in advance if this post is in the wrong thread.

Good looking car!

You can get a Marti Report to see the actual build numbers with the options in the car.

Hey, that car looks oddly familiar!  Not to burst your exclusivity play but mine is essentially identical: '87 5sp, Regatta Blue, sunroof, blue leather + full dual power seats, ATC, PremSound+EQ, etc.    Kinda exciting having all the boxes ticked except for that making the heaviest/slowest build, ha.

To be fair, yours is probably in a little better shape.  Mine just rolled 100K on a recent 1,000mi road trip, but spent its first 93K in Milwuakee - while it was generally loved, it's not perfect.  It apparently suffered a major front impact because I can see tells that the front clip was replaced (with an 88 bumper cover to boot) and the whole car was repainted, but the workmanship is solid.  A few bumps and bruises and wear spots made it affordable, but it gets compliments everywhere and I've enjoyed addressing those issues and making it better.

The color was not what I was looking for - in fact I never saw one until this car turned up.  It's a perfect homage to the Twilight Blue '88 LX and Silver '87 Cougar that I and my wife respectively owned when we met.

Still, like you I've noticed in trolling countless articles and sales listings over many years, that this does seem to be among the rarer combos out there.  The color isn't too common, then you add the other features.  As Mike said, a Matri Report could probably say for sure.  I haven't ordered one myself.
