Advice needed regarding a clutch fork

Hello Everyone: HELP!
Attached is a picture of my 88. Yeah, she is beautiful. All original. I'm the 5th owner. She is still in the wrapper with only 35k on the odometer when I purchased last June from Jersey. Anyway, I have done a good deal of work as far as replacing rotors, pads, calipers, main fuse, etc. The car has sat for extended periods over the years. The hydraulic clutch is going bad with a grab on release in 1st gear. I put her in the shop this week. The shop calls me yesterday and tells me the clutch fork is broken (I feel they probably broke it trying to get things apart) and needs to be replaced. Ok......turns out a clutch fork for an 87 or 88 are non existent as any oem or aftermarket part availability. Holy smokes! I have been searching the net ALL DAY. I have visited and searched all sites for hours-ebay and junk yards-and all in between. Any advice? Is there an alternative? I'm finding out that this particular fork was only used on the 87 and 88 T5. Thank you.

I have an 87 TC with the clutch fork in a parts car that I have. I haven't removed it yet. I sold the last one that I had for $100 on ebay. If this one still looks good, I'm going to want the same for it. Just putting it out there in case you are interested. Depending on weather, I may try to get it out tomorrow. By the way, that is a beautiful car!

I'm interested. That would be great if it were still usable. Could you please let me know when you list it and your screen name on eBay?

BTW. Thanks for the compliment. She is gorgeous! Original owner was a NAPA executive. I was told Ford GAVE it to him! Wow. Lucky dog!

There are other options, like a different TO bearing with the spring clips on the bearing, and not on the fork..... do a search here and over at Turboford, as I dont remember the details.

Extremely nice car and my favorite color to boot. Tell me more about your user name. I live a stone's throw from Lorain. Tell your shop you want that old fork back. They probably broke one or two of the spring clips off and they can be replaced. See the very last posting of this thread: http://natomessageboard.com/ubbthreads.p...529&page=3
Reading that whole thread would be a good thing.

Thanks for the advice. I chose the user name after I used the vin decoder search on this web side and discovered my TC was the 32,656th 1988 Ford scheduled for production at Lorain, Ohio assembly in the 1988 model year and was produced in October of 1987-I found out the last one from the inside door jamb. Thanks for asking.

Hey 50. Would you by chance had a look at that clutch fork you may be selling? I got my original fork from the shop. Thankfully, the fork itself was not damaged. It was the clip. After some homework and talking to some people and reading all the great advice on this site, I'm told I can use the clip from an 88 stang with some modifications. I had rather buy yours, if it is for sale and keep it original with a new clutch kit I'm about to drop in too. Thanks.
