Some have multiple keyways for adjusting the cam timing that require you to remove the timing belt and cam gear to make an adjustment, which, IMO, is a PITA. Others have bolts you loosen to adjust, which takes under a minute to change cam timing. Those are the way to go. I use the Race Engineering pulley.

I have one of the race Engineering units. I really like it as I can make quick changes if needed.

I don't even take those multi keyway gears into consideration when talking about adjustable gears. I just don't see any good reason to use one, personally. My comment was specifically about the infinitely adjustable type.

I agree with Brian, they are all the same. The keyway style is garbage because you cant adjust on the fly. All the other ones are the same. There is the esslinger, racer walsh, and needhp.com versions. They all function the same way.

Even if you get the old school version of the adjustable Essy unit, it will do the exact same thing as the new version-just not as pretty.

FYI: If you go to the needhp website and see the lightweight crank gear, dont buy it. 1) What they send is not what is in the picture 2)There is not enough weight savings to be worth it.
