Add Keyless Entry???

Is it possible to add keyless entry to a turbocoupe that did not come with that option from the factory. I have a parts car with keyless on it. I know I can just transplant the door and the module from the trunk. But are the wires there to plug the door and module in, or would I have to run the wires to?

Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.

it is possible but you need a wiring harness for it to work properly.if you can obtain the harness it is just plug and play while rerouting the new harness in place of the old

Ha, i got it apart from the original harness and that’s about it, it so confusing, i have to mark every wire and then splice it in, i mean i still have interest in it, but recently i just added one of those car alarms in and used that, lol,
it not really plug and play its plug and play and cut and splice I found that a lot of the wires do go to junction with other wires and i noticed my car has them, reading this post is giving me the confidence to get it started up again and finish it.
but i still need to reconnect all the wires in the door for it, and the car i got the harness out of had the door cut off and the wires cut, grrr damn hacks. but ya if you have patience it can be done. i planned on putting the module underneath the back seat. Just remember there is about 30-40 wires that run through out the car

I'd just go with an aftermarket remote keyless entry system. It's much easier, more convenient, and usually comes with outher nice features (Mine has remote trunk, remote start, alarm in addition to RKE).

When I do the T5 swap I'll have to make some mods to the system to ensure it only starts in neutral using the remote, but from what I've seen there is a neutral switch on the T5 so this should be easy.

I PURCHASED A KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM FROM NAPA FOR ABOUT $50 TWO REMOTES AND TRUNK RELEASE. NAPA MIGHT NOT HAVE THEM IN STOCK BUT LOOK IN THEIR PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES CATALOG YOULL SEE IT. IT COMES WITH VERY SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO IN STALL IT IN THE VEHICLE.

funny i put the keyless in an 86 cougar and it was just a matter of pluging in a couple of plugs and routing the harness and it works fine

hey guys! thanks for the replys. I am looking at buying a new car since my current one just will not run properly, that's why I was asking. I would like to keep the car I have since it is a black 5-speed with all the options, but I can't figure out the problem with the motor. If anyone is close to me and wants to help me figure out the problem I would greatly appreciate it. I live about 5 minutes from National Trails Raceway (in case anyone is coming out this weekend) I think it is a fuel problem but I am not quite sure. I live on Liebs Island in Millersport, OH.
