88TC 5spd with over 240,000 miles (if that matters)
My ABS and Brake lights have been on for what seems like forever. I recently attempted to change the brakes all the way around. The fronts went fine, but I had problems with both rears. The driver's side had a frozen slider, and the passenger side rear had a completely frozen piston. I mean it wouldn't budge. I bought some good used rears from a member here and swapped everything broken with nicer parts. I bled the brakes per the required procedure that I found here when I searched (key on to energize booster, brake pedal held, bleed for 10 seconds, repeat til no bubbles and clean fluid is visible), and everything works perfectly. Car stops on a dime, and everything seems great EXCEPT the stupid lights on the dash are still on. I can hear the accumulator charge when the key is turned, and it clicks off after a few seconds, so that seems to be working correctly. I filled the reservoir often as I was bleeding the brakes, so it is at the right level with new fluid and no air. I'm not really sure what else I could check.
There is one thing though.
My ebrake has stuck when you used it since the day I bought this car about 9 years ago, so I just don't use it. However, when I take the car to a shop for anything, they automatically use the ebrake and make it stick. Then it turns into this big thing with me under the car wringing the crap out of the cable trying to get it to release. Anyway, I finally just took the ebrake cables loose from the bottom of the rear calipers. I unhooked the end out of the little sprung groove. The e-clip is still there to hold the lines in place, but the ebrake no longer works. I can see this making the red BRAKE light stay on, but I can't imagine why this would light up the yellow ABS light. I'm open to any suggestions, thanks.
