well i have checked the relay and replaced it. there was a hole in one of my lines so I had it replaced. Not too sure if they Bled the brakes after this fix. I cant figure it out and have found my way back here for the great help from our community. I am getting itchy for driving the bird again. Please help. ps i also replaced the ignition and switch about a year ago. I read somewhere that this might have something to do with my problem... Help pete.... lol

You paid somebody to fix the brakes and you still have no brakes? I think they are where you need to have a conversation, maybe on the topic of refund.

Is the ABS light on or off. Give us some more info. Does the booster pump run?

Well the problem is that I didnt actually have to pay him. So I think I didnt get much service, Kind of a family favor.... The pump sounds like it is ruinning when I jump out the pins on the relay connector. I did indeed read the info for troubleshooting. I replaced the relay ($17) not too bad. The pump kind of sounds like its bound up maybe. This could be the problem however the only problem when this all started was the bad brake line. So hoping that the current problem is just a bleeding or ignition switch problem. I was trouble shooting alone so I couldnt really get all aspects complete and it was getting dark. The other problem is that the bird is about 1 hour away from home at my stepfathers lot... Would inproper bleeding make the ABS light come on. ?

Does the car have brakes? If not, then trouble shoot that first. ABS light just means no ABS but you should still have brakes. Have you seen the red BRAKE light on or just the ABS?

the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor really tough like. Kind of stiff. if the car is just rolling out of the parking space then yes I can kind of stop the car. I can not recal if the red brake light came on at all. If the pump is running would it run constant. if it shouldnt then could this be the problem.

The pump should come on after a few applications of the brake.. The pump should not run constantly

if it is running constantly and the relay has been replaced, does this mean that the problem should be somewhere in the Ignition switch or associated parts......PS HERE WE GO BRUINS-CELTS

also I have replaced the battery a number of times because I think the pump is indeed running even when the car is shut off and draining the battery.

You sure it's the pump running or is the relay sticking? When mine was sticking, it sounded like a pump running, like a little machine gun. Did you replace the relay furthest from the firewall under the vac tree? Give it a rap and see if the noise stops. If it does, it's not going to stay unstuck for long.

the relay below the tree has been replaced. The thing that confuses me is that there was no problem with the system until the bake line let go. I figured that fixing the brake line would solve the stopping problem. I think im going to give the bleed a try next time in near the car.
