Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if it was possible to remove the ABS and ride control parts of the wiring harness with out cutting up the harness in my 88.
I am no longer using either of these systems on my track car.

Thanks,

Jeff

They all run together in places. It's been done but not an easy task

Jeff I would pull it all and run an 85-86 engine harness. From what we talked about it should work out for your track car. you can then wire you battery feed and accesories new.

Right now it would be easy to switch everything.
The car is completly gutted. My only problem is time. Car is signed up for Hyperfest at Summit Point in 2 weeks. There is a whole pile of wires and plugs that I'm not using in the current harness. Do you have everthing I would need? I was thinking I would replace the harness with a painless harness and then use an XR4Ti engine harness that I have here. I already have an LA3 thats been repinned to work with the XR harness.

Get a good wiring diagram and backtrace everything and get rid of it and clean it up. It sounds a lot easier than it is, but I would consider it the "right" way to do it.

Agreed, unfortunately the EEC test connector is in the ABS/ride harness... It connects to the engine harness via a connector near the 'puter... After I did my 5.0 swap, I had two EEC test connectors with the original being inactive... I used the wires in it's plug to connect gauges, sure beat running additional wires through the firewall...
