Just got done taking the g/f to pick up her alternate auto and coming home it was hesitant after 4000rpm but all the way up to 4000rpm it is fine. Any suggestions on what could cause this. I am thinking plugs or maybe wires. But this was fine on the way to pick the car up. But after i parked it and then took off it started doing this. So any suggestions would be good. Thanks again my fellow TCers

It could be gas. It also sounds like your due for at least a set of plugs.

Yea man you cant beat fresh ignition parts man. Give it a good tune up. Here is what i used
Motorcraft Plugs from Advanced Auto $30
Auto Lites From Advanced
NAPA Dist Cap
The car runs great now. I think I need a new TPS and to replace the rotor on the dist.
Good Luck!

ok update on this..... I have changed plugs, cap, rotor, wires all motorcraft. And it started doing this again.
I noticed this time that temp gauge was reading high. I am thinking maybe since the temp is up there are hot spots being developed at higher rpm level. So I am thinking of taking out the T-stat and running it like that for awhile to see if that is the problem or should i just change it. Normal it barely makes it into the normal range. Any more ideas?

If you are going to go to all the trouble of removing the tstat housing why not just throw in a stant 180deg tstat? that thing is a bitch to get on and off.

Matt, are you still running the original coil? If so you might want to install a new one from Mallory or MSD for around $40+/-

You can't run without a thermostat, coolant will flow too fast.
I tried the 180 and my car ran rich, lost power.
If you are runnin warmer now with the good weather try a clutch fan from a Ranger.
It's workin great for me, especially around town.

I might try the coil part. And yes it runs way warmer with the warmer weather and it sucks cause i have a black TC.
