A TC Day, it's enough to give you gray hair.

Matt brought his car down today so we could try to find the miss problem he has had and posted about. When he got here he said it hadn't done it once all day. Go figure. So we repostioned his distributor since the TFI was flat against the alternator. Ok, no problem we got to lunch 4 miles away and his top I/C hose splits. Ok, no problem I got a spare at home. We have lunch, get the spare hose and head for Brunswick via the back roads. I look at the speedo and were past 100, but I'm not gaining much on Matt??? I check the boost gauge and I'm only getting 10 psi. Ummm wheres the other 8 psi. We pull off and give it the visual once over. No Clues. So we go to Brunswick where the car turnout is small and it's cycling between rain and sunshine everyhour. While waiting out the rains I decide to work some of the tangles out of my hair. Hark, there was a very light colored strand. I know in my heart of hearts that it was blond, [Image: biggrin.gif] but Lora & Matt swore it was gray.
My first one! After we get back to my place Matt and Lora take off. Within two minutes he calls me and says the car is making weird noises. They gets back to my place, pop the hood and there is oil in lots of places on th epassenger side. Off comes the intercooler hoses, lots of oil. Off comes the inlet tube, lots of oil. Is it the turbo or the PCV. We check the pCV, it's bad and there is oil on that side of the engine too.
We also check play in the turbo shaft. It's bad too. Looks like he may have gray hair soon too. We get a spare PCV in it and over a quart of oil, clean everthing up and put it back together. They take off for Toledo. Hope they make it home OK

Actually I have always said that I didn't care what color it was as long as it's attached and growing. I have been quite lucky to have as much as I do (this late in life Kevin) [Image: biggrin.gif]

I found my first one when I was going to an intense (mentally) school in the military. I made the mistake of telling the guys there that I found my first grey hair. They consoled me by gathering around me while I was seated and counted up near twenty other ones, tuggin gjust enough to show me where without actually removing the hair. With classmates like that... I was 29 at the time, and they went away for a while after I got out of the school, and came back when I hit my mid thirties. So, if you're older than 35, Pete, it might not be blonde...

That cant be right! There is no way I would have believed you were 40 when I met you!!!

Sorry I did not get to make it guys, I was stacked up with a graduation party and David (owns the red 87 TC) came home from Arizona and his birthday was today.

But between partys I did get to tear into my 87 TC and I think i fixed the gas leak by changing the injector O rings. I will not know for sure untill I get a few miles on her.
