I switched the bad turbo out of the newer TC and now when the car is at idle I can rev it up and it get's into boost according to the factory gauge.
I can hear the turbo spooling up.
What would cause this to do this?
Thanks

make sure that the hose from the side of the IC is conected becuase that is the one that is for the boost guage.

Tim,

Do a search on this as I think we discussed sometime. I swear I had that happen too where I was getting boost with no load but I can't remember the responses...

Well, the car runs like HELL!
It ran, not very much power, but it ran almost normal before the switch.

Now, it runs like damn it and the VAM went bad. I know the simptoms from that...experience. It's not acting like the other TC did when the VAM went south.
I ran codes and got:
12-cannot raise RPM (extended idle)
21- coolant temp. sensor (ECT) out of range
23- TPS out of range
25- No knock signal during self test
26- Airflow (MAF/VAF) signal out of range
28- Abnormal vane air temp sensor reading
34- insuffecient EGR flow
41- EGO (HO25) indicates system lean
74- Brake on/off sw open during test
76- No VAF change when throttle snapped
I have the VAM unhooked because I know it messed up. So, all the codes concerning the VAM are covered.
All hoses are hooked up (triple checked)
THANKS
