I have been offered a set of "Used & Undamaged " 1988 TC Lower Control arms by local source.

Given they are serviceable ( I can clean them up & replace bushings and use on our car ) what are these generally worth ?

Again no Pick-Apart yards around locally -

So just looking for "Ball Park " estimate

$30 ea. you can replace them with '94-'04 mustang by changing the balljoint.

I've used a 96 mustang control arm with the mustang (ford low friction) ball joint. You need the nut from the mustang tho! Different threads forget which is which but one is coarse and one is fine thread. 5.0 is there a reason you need to change the ball joint that I'm unaware of?

yes, there is a reason. there aren't enough threads sticking through the spindle to safely secure the balljoint. TC spindles are thicker in the balljoint mounting flange area than sn95 mustangs. sn95 uses a pinch nut and it won't engage the threads on the thicker fox spindle. it will work but i wouldn't recommend it.

EJ sounds like you should go with 5.0 said, I don't remember what it looks like, for something like a balljoint I don't want the responsibilty of recommending something just because I did it, that's why I asked 5.0 his reason! Better to be safe, I'll have to take a look at mine at the time most said it would work, I didn't ask about the balljoint, I forget the details I looked into at the time few different sources...

Gentlemen:

Thank you both very much for your input and insight.

Our first option will be to go with the used, if serviceable, 1988 TC Lower control arms. With the appropriate new Bushings and Ball joints installed of course.

Next, in lieu of the used LCA's, will be to look into the options you both described.

Rest assured that we will do our homework and only go with a viable set-up that will allow for seamless and safe operation.
