^^^^ Good idea, Rob!

Just yesterday I found a case where my factory manuals were zero help. My better than new condition 86 Tbird 5.0, for which I have the complete set of factory manuals, needed a water pump. No big deal, but since the pump is kind of hard to get to I thought I would check the factory manual to see what stuff I had to remove to access all the 7 or so pump bolts and studs. Manual basically stated "remove anything that is in the way". DUH..... I knew that already!

haha Yeah that's typical in the haynes/Chilton manuals though sometimes flipping a page or two back helps as the related parts may be talked about in the same part of the book.
It'll often tell you to remove several parts, but if you don't even know what those parts are sometimes like myself as I'm just learning, it can take several internet searches plus reading several other sections in the book just to get a simple piece off. I use Rock Autos pictures often just so I know what the part looks like.

The Chassis / Electrical manual occasionally comes in handy for troubleshooting chassis / body electrical issues like power windows etc .  The body / chassis manual isnt that helpful as the TC chassis is like any other car on the road and I personally dont need info on how to replace ball joints, tie rod ends, replace the starter, remove the cluster, etc as I have done this kind of stuff so many times on so many different cars it is second nature to me. While I have this manual I havent looked at it in years. There is also a supplement manual for the Tbird and Lincoln LSC that has valuable troubleshooting info on the Teves II ABS, the PRC and several other systems unique to the TC and LSC.

Jeff could you take a quick look at this eBay ad for me and confirm that this has what I'm looking for? I believe it has the two books you mentioned plus a couple others.

That ad has the T-Bird shop manuals mixed in with the Continental Mark VII EVTM. The T-Bird has its own EVTM. There are differences between the two vehicles. So I don't think that's what you want for working on a T-Bird.

This is what the 1987 T-Bird EVTM looks like:

Didn't even notice the evtm was for the wrong car, good eye! If that had been the correct evtm, that's what I'm looking for then? Other than any supplementary manuals?

It's also missing the Volume D Powertrain book. Yes, there was an actual "supplemental" (update) shop manual for the 1987 that contained some info on the ABS and PRC for the 1987 T-Bird and some preliminary info for 1988 (non-T-Bird).

I did a brief search on eBay and I didn't really see any ad that contained them all.

I did see a supplementary shop manual I think on ebay, and also on some other website.
Thanks for the answers, I'll know what I'm looking for now.
